Sandi Part 1

I had just been discharged honorably after serving a tour in Fort Campbell
and before that I was in Vietnam with the Air Calvary I flew the Hueys.

I was driving in my red convertible Pontiac GTO down the two lane highway
and I saw a small bar on the side of the highway and I decided to stop to
wet my whistle. I was still wearing my class A uniform it is like a suit
for the Army and my black shoes were a bright shine.

The bartender asked," On leave?"

I replied," No, been discharged just a couple of days ago. I was with the
Air Cal very."

He said," Oh OK. So what you planning to do?"

I said," I heard in L.A. there are looking for qualified chopper pilots to
help in traffic condition reporting.'

He said," Why doesn't that beat all. I didn't know about that."

I said," I guess they do reporting over a radio station it doesn't matter I
might as well use the skills I learned to do in combat."

He asked," What will you have?"

I said," I will take a beer. It doesn't matter the brand surprise me.'

He chuckled and said," You will have it."

Within one minute he put a beer in front of me and I paid him 25 cents and
I took a sip and this beautiful woman came in and she had a suitcase.

She had blonde hair and was wearing cut-ff shorts a red and white checkered
button down shirt that was tied up above her abdomen and tennis shoes. She
had on large frame black lensed sun glasses.

She asked," When does the next bus for Los Angelas come through?"

The bartender said," Not until 8 tonight."

She said," Oh no."

I said," I am going to Los Angelas."

She asked," Do you mind if I ride with you."

I said," Heck no, in fact I would love to have company on the way."

She said," Great, my name is Sandi."

I replied," My name is Mike."

The bartender said," You might want to stick with him, he was with the Air
Calvary."
